1. Terms & Conditions
1.1 All Gait Customers purchasing any of GaitCare+ Subject Product(s) are eligible to apply for GaitCare+ service provided and covered by Gait
1.2 GaitCare + is covered exclusively by Gait Apple Authorized Service Provider (Gait AASP). This warranty is not a subject to be claimed at Apple or any other service provider.
1.3 The purchase of GaitCare+ must be applied only at the time of purchase of related Subject Product(s) and on the same purchase invoice.
1.4 GaitCare+ Accidental Damage can be claimed at any time after the purchase has been made during the validity period; Electronic Breakdowns can be claimed only after 1 year from the purchase date
1.5 Gait warrants the Subject Product(s) against defects in materials and workmanship when used normally in accordance with Apple's published guidelines. https://www.apple.com/in/legal/warranty/products/warranty-emea-english.html
1.6 GaitCare+ covers the repair of Subject Product(s), using new Apple genuine parts. The device(s) will be tested and passed Apple functional requirements, before handing over to the Customers
1.7 When providing the warranty service, the contents of the storage media of the device(s) will be deleted and reformatted. Gait is not responsible for any loss of software programs, data or other information contained on the storage media, or any other part of the apple product serviced.
1.8 For GaitCare+ Accidental Insurance, can be claimed 2x times per calendar year during the policy validity period
1.9 This warranty does not apply to:
1.9.1 any non-Apple branded hardware.
1.9.2 any software sold with/without Apple hardware.
1.9.3 recovery and reinstallation of other software programs, data, and information.
1.9.4 consumable parts, such as batteries or protective coatings, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
1.9.5 damage caused by operating the Apple Product outside Apple’s published guidelines.
1.9.6 damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (“AASP”)
1.9.7 Apple Product that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple
1.9.8 damage caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Apple Product if any serial number has been removed or defaced from the Apple Product
1.10 Please read and understand the above terms and conditions carefully before making your purchase. By proceeding with the purchase, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Applying (Gait Care+)
8.1 The GaitCare+ offers to extend the warranty and accidental damage insurance of Subject Product(s) up to 3 years:
Þ Apple One-Year Limited Warranty – provided by Apple - free of charge service
Þ Additional One or Two-Years Limited Warranty with accidental damage insurance – provided and covered by Gait only - charged service.
GaitCare+ service can’t be sold separately, must be transacted in the same invoice of Subject Product(s).
3. Claim (Gait Care +)
9.1 GaitCare+ Accidental Damage can be claimed at any time after the purchase has been made during the validity period; Electronic Breakdowns can be claimed only after 1 year from the purchase date
9.2 When claiming GaitCare+, Customer must provide to Gait Service center with at least one of the following information:
Þ Mobile number, that was used when invoicing GaitCare+
Þ Initial invoice number
Þ Serial number of purchased product(s)
9.3 Gait Service Center will create a Job Card.
9.4 Gait Service Center will run regular diagnostic check-up to confirm the escalated issue
9.5 After confirming the issue, Gait Service center will follow the Apple repair guidelines, based on GaitCare +T&C
9.6 GaitCare+ repair will be carried out by Gait authorized service centres.
9.7 Repairs/claims during the factory warranty period will be subject to the terms and conditions specified in the manufacturer's warranty document.
10 Validity of the GaitCare+ policy in case of the device replacement:
10.1 If the device is repaired or only the spare part of the device is replaced, then the GaitCare+ policy remains on the device.
10.2 If the device is replaced in whole (WUR), then the GaitCare+ policy stops in that moment.
4. Exclusions (Gait Care+)
A. Any incident occurring outside the Policy Period.
B. Any incident resulting in a claim totaling 120 QAR and less
C. Theft or damage as a result of a covered item being used by someone else other than you or a member of your family.
D. Theft of a mobile phone if a SIM card registered to you or a member of your family was not in the mobile phone at the time of the incident.
E. Any claim where you are unable to provide proof of purchase of a covered item.
F. Any claim where the serial number for a covered item or the IMEI number for a Mobile Phone has been removed or tampered with in any way.
G. Any incident involving theft or damage that results in a claim for the covered item which is not reported to the Police and to Gait within 48 hours of discovery.
H. Any incident involving damage, mechanical or electrical breakdown that results in a claim for the covered Item and which is not reported to Gait within 48 hours of discovery.
I. Damage caused by any form of portable external storage media including but not limited to memory cards, USB memory sticks or other digital recording equipment.
J. Wear and tear, rusting or other deterioration due to normal use or exposure, or where there has been a failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the covered item.
K. Any software or data installed on the covered item, such as telephone numbers, ringtones, music, pictures, applications or videos, damage caused as a result of a virus damage caused by the installation of software or applications or any costs incurred during reinstallation.
L. Any costs suffered by you or a member of your family as a result of not being able to use a covered item or any costs other than the repair or replacement cost of a covered item.
M. Any claim arising from the confiscation, requisition or destruction of a covered item by any government, public or legal authority.
N. Any labour or other charges incurred where a fault cannot be found with a covered item.
O. Any costs or damage caused to a covered item by war, terrorism, invasion, revolution or any similar event.
P. Theft or damage to any accessories or other devices which are not defined as an electronics product.
Q. Software malfunctions or other issues related to or caused due unauthorized software enhancements is not covered.
R. Damage caused due to rooting, jailbreaking or installing Custom ROMs or other software that may affect a devices hardware.
S. Any accessories that may be included or bundled with the product. These include but are not limited to batteries, headphones, chargers, charger cables, cases, covers and any other accessories.
T. Unauthorized repair or modification undertaken by any third-party service provider.
5. Covers and limits.
1) The Policy covers Items owned and used by you and members of your immediate family.
2) Mechanical or Electrical Breakdown – What is Covered
3) If a covered item breaks down during the Policy Period, we will reimburse the cost of repairing it. If the covered Item proves impossible or uneconomic to repair, we will reimburse the cost of replacing it.
4) Mechanical or Electrical Breakdown – What is Not Covered
5) Mechanical or electrical breakdown covered by manufacturer’s recall of the covered Item.
6) Existing manufacturer’s warranty active on the product.
7) Wear and tear or gradual deterioration of performance.
i) Damage (Accidental/Liquid/Cracked screen) - What is Covered
ii) If the covered item suffers damage including liquid damage caused by the covered item being in contact with any liquid through spillages, damp conditions, and natural weather conditions and leaking batteries during the Policy Period, we will reimburse the cost of repair. If it is not possible or economic to repair up to the value mentioned within your Policy, we will reimburse the cost of replacing the covered item.
iii) Damage - What is Not Covered
iv) Damage caused by:
8) You or a member of your family deliberately damaging or neglecting the Covered Item.
9) The covered item being used by someone else other than you or a member of your family;
10) Failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions
11) Cosmetic damage
12) Routine servicing, inspection, maintenance, dismantling or cleaning of the covered item
i) Theft - What is Covered
ii) If a covered item gets stolen during the Policy Period, we will reimburse the cost of replacing it. Where only a part or parts of the covered item(s) have been stolen, we will only pay for the replacement of that part or parts. If the covered item is a mobile phone, the handset cost will be reimbursed of equivalent specification.
iii) Theft - What is Not Covered?
iv) Theft caused by you or a member of your family:
13) Leaving a covered item unattended when it is away from your home
14) Not taking appropriate measures to look after or protect the covered item(s)
15) Leaving the covered item in a vehicle, building or other premises, unless force resulting in damage has been used to gain entry or exit.
16) Theft of any gadget not reported to the police and where you have not obtained a valid police report
17) Of any mobile network-enabled device (including mobile phones and tablets) where you have not notified your network provider and
i) blacklisted the handset within 48 hours of discovery of theft.
ii) Unauthorized Airtime Use – What is Covered
iii) If a mobile phone owned and in use by you or a member of your family is stolen and a claim is accepted, we will reimburse the cost of unauthorized use up to a maximum of 1,000 QAR. Cover will only apply to unauthorized usage within 12 hours of discovery of the theft of your mobile phone
iv) Unauthorized Airtime Use – What is Not Covered
v) Any claim that is not supported by documentation, which includes an itemized bill showing the unauthorized calls.
Policy Limits - Applicable to All Policies
The maximum amount we will reimburse for repair or reimbursement of a covered item is if the cost of repair falls within the range of the purchase price of the product.
In the case of reimbursement of goods, a depreciation scale will be used against the product which is based on when the claim was been reported.
The depreciation scale is as follows:
0-12 months – 0% (100% of product value is payable)
12 months and 1 day - 24 months – 30% (70% of product value is payable).
24 months and 1 day - 36 months – 50% (50% of product value is payable).
